The Mazda 300, also known as the Mazda Familia in Japan, was a compact car produced by Mazda from 1964 to 2003. It was the successor to the Mazda R360 and was replaced by the Mazda Axela in 2003.
The Mazda 300 was first introduced in 1964 as a sedan and wagon. It was powered by a 1.5L inline four-cylinder engine and was available with either a four-speed manual or three-speed automatic transmission.
The 300 was updated in 1967 with a larger 1.6L engine and a new five-speed manual transmission. In 1972, the 300 was updated again with a 1.8L engine and a four-speed automatic transmission.
In the 1980s, the 300 was updated again with a new front-end design, a 1.8L engine, and a five-speed manual transmission. In 1984, the 300 was given a more modern look with a redesigned interior and exterior.
The 300 was facelifted again in 1989 and was given a 1.8L engine and a four-speed automatic transmission. In 1995, the 300 was given a new 2.0L engine and a five-speed manual transmission.
The 300 was discontinued in 2003 and replaced by the Mazda Axela. During its 39-year production run, the 300 was sold in many countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.
